Abstract Acrylic Painting

This beautiful acrylic picture is 73 x 103 cm, framed and stretched canvas on wood. The main colors are the earth tones, light rose, beige, and a bit of gold. In paintings, earth colors refer to a specific palette of colors. They are often described as grounding, calming, and natural. Shades like brown, beige, terracotta, ochre, and olive green. Historically, these pigments were mined from the earth (minerals). The painting “Seven Colors” is extremely close to the natural spectacle “Seven Colors” on Mauritius. The Seven Coloured Earth in Chamarel, Mauritius, is a natural phenomenon of sand dunes featuring distinct layers of red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple, and yellow.

Formed over millions of years by decomposed volcanic rock, the colors appear because different metal oxides (iron and aluminum) settled into layers after cooling at different temperatures. You can call me strange, but I painted this picture in the year 2025 when I had never seen the “Seven Colors” before and was really surprised to find myself standing in front of a landscape, while on vacation, that looked like my picture.
