New York City Photography Print

‘New York City Life’ is part of the ‘States 23’ Prints collection. This piece was taken while Dominik was exploring New York City in November 2023. He captured these images while he was on one of many of his breathtaking New York City photo walks. This is a collection of his favorite shots taken. This girl was a passenger taking the metro in New York City. Dominik was taking the metro back to his accommodation after disembarking the Staten Island Ferry. As the metro was nearing Central Park, Dominik’s eyes got drawn to this passenger. She was dressed in a bright vivid red dress. Dominik was struck with similarities between this passenger and Wednesday, the character from The Adam’s family. After a short conversation, Dominik found out that the passenger was a fashion student and that the outfit she was wearing was a piece she had created herself.

After receiving consent Dominik captured this beautiful image and was able to create a photograph around this amazing moment in time where two creative worlds collide in one of the most unexpected places. This was Dominik’s final stop before leaving the metro. The ‘New York City Life’ piece differs from the ‘Girl on the Train’ as Dominik then asked the girl to not pose for any photos but to go about her day as she would normally do on the metro. This gave the aesthetic that he was just capturing a character in their story as they went through their day in New York. Dominik Zky - ‘More than just a Photo’.
